  • Lack of time...

9 credits in just 1 course is insane...INSANE....I tell you! Add being a wife, EMT, and NA to that and well where is the free time? Thankfully I've got this weekend off so I can maybe clean my house, that is if my body will let me, apparently someone borrowed my tooth brush (much to my detest) and the sniffles are now in order....

    update...

So life is busy between nursing school 4 days a week, working saturdays at the hospital, church, plus Jake's two jobs, and running with the squad.

Nursing school is going well I'm in pediatrics clinicals right now and I must say I really like kids more than adults. Although I have not gotten to hold any of the newborns on the floor, I think Jake paid off all the other nursing student and my teacher so I would not hold them! I had a patient thursday night who was absolutely adorable! He would come up to you and start talking jibberish to you with the most intense face. His parents were very nice as well and so I got to do a good assessment on him, he took my stethoscope from me and started trying to listen to his heart and then put the bell up to my heart.

Last weekend I worked in the ICU and it was my first time on the unit, it was rather terrifying at first. You'd think a klutz like me would not be allowed on the floor! But I managed to not pull out anyone's vents for 8 hours and did actually have a good time. I also got to assist the nurse with a mans post-mortum care which is a situation that is indescribable until you've done it yourself, they try to prepare you for it in nursing school but you're never fully prepared for it. They also don't prepare you for the body starting to twitch in the body bag, while in the elevator down to the morgue.....AHHHHH creepy....

We are back from Mexico...Got back Sunday night, and Monday morning we were at the ER getting my foot x-rayed, and Tuesday morning we were at the eye doctor getting Jake new glasses. Tuesday or Wednesday of the trip our pastor accidentally stepped on Jake's glasses, so he went "blind" for the rest of the trip, then Thursday night coming out of a restaurant someone was taking a picture while I was walking down steep stairs, I was blinded by the flash and fell hard on the outside of my left foot. We could not tell if it was bruised or if I had cracked something, but it was rather painful for the first few days so I was on crutches the rest of the trip. Then that Friday while on crutches I went into a bathroom at another restaurant and one of the toilets had overflown and my crutches got wet and I slipped and fell on the wet floor, proceeding to soak my only ace bandage in toilet water. Saturday I got to ride in wheel chairs through all the different airports, that was interesting to say the least, they seriously don't make handicapped bathroom stalls big enough for a wheel chair and a person. It was rather eye opening. All in all the experience was rather eye opening...

  • Fighting the inside of of my eye lids...

Well we leave this morning for the airport at 2, and it's about 12:30 here in Eastern time and I am trying to stay awake til we get to the airport and I am finding it more and more difficult. At the moment I am subjecting Jacob to A Christmas Story... Apparently red rider bebe guns, and frozen flag pole double dog dares are not entertaining at this time of night...Tonight at our packing meeting the team was informed that President Obama will be in Guadalajara at the same time we are there, please pray this does not affect our trip security wise, apparently we are flying in the day before he is...
